Our Story
With a continuing demand for care to an ever-growing patient base, Community Dental Clinic reached a critical need for expansion. Patients were waiting more than 10 months for an available dental appointment. More than 70% of these same patients did not have a primary care provider and many needed behavioral health services.
The solution would be bold and innovative. Community Dental Clinic would move to a new site and become the nation’s first dental expansion into a fully-integrated health home.
In June 2017, The PIC Place opened in a 10,000 square foot renovated site. Inside, patients experienced healthcare differently. Patient care centered on their needs. Healthcare providers from medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health partnered together in care teams to meet the individualized needs of patients. Social determinant factors were addressed through case management.
Today, this vision is thriving along with the patients served. Patients have access to quality healthcare that is affordable. Medicaid and Medicare patients are welcomed. Individuals without insurance receive discounted care through the sliding fee scale.
The PIC Place, Partners in Integrated Care, is contributing to the overall health of the region one valued patient at a time.

COLORFUL
One of the first things we hear from patients is that they love the colors. Not surprising though–we involved the patients in the decorating process when the clinic was built. We love the colors they chose too!
COMFORTABLE
Everything about the design of The PIC Place is designed for patient comfort. From the comfy couch in the waiting room to the location chosen on the public bus route, we want you to feel comfortable.
CARING
You will find The PIC Place is genuinely interested in caring for their patients. We understand that you have a choice and we appreciate the opportunity to care for you.
ART
The collection of alcohol ink throughout the clinic is a special story in itself. What began as a Facebook contest became the largest collection of alcohol ink according to an Australian newssource. Come see for yourself.
Our Board of Directors
As a nonprofit organization, The PIC Place is led by a volunteer board of directors. These respected members of our community come together to provide strategic leadership to advance the mission of The PIC Place.
The Board of Directors meet monthly for regular board meetings and actively participate
in leading the organization through thoughtful engagement.
All board directors financially contribute to the organization and give generously of their time to the organization, believing that The PIC Place is a needed community asset that successfully fills a healthcare need for our region.
